    Air Canada has inaugurated new non-stop service between Toronto Pearson and Rio de Janeiro - Galeao International Airport with the departure of flight AC098.     Air travel remains one of the best consumer bargains, given its superior speed and price compared with other modes of transportation. From 2000-2013, U.S. Consumer Price Index rose 35 percent, whereas average domestic airfare rose 15 percent.     Southwest Airlines announced new nonstop service between Austin and two new destinations: St. Louis and Orange County/Santa Ana.     In November, the subsidiary companies of Avianca Holdings S.A. transported 2,242,870 passengers, up 7.3% compared to November 2013. Capacity, measured in ASKs (available seat kilometers), increased 7.7%, while passenger traffic, measured in RPKs (revenue passenger kilometers), increased 5.7%.     Emirates will be giving travellers heading to Perth, Australia the opportunity to experience the Emirates Airbus A380 on the route for the first time, commencing 1st May 2015.
